There is a crisis in the Pet industry. This crisis is affecting Pet Owners, animals, Veterinarians and Animal Shelter employees. This crisis began before the Covid shut down, but became much work when many people got Pets - often for the first time - to ease their boredom and isolation. However, once the Covid lock down was over, and life returned to normal, the Animal Companion industry couldn't deal with the volume of Pets in the system, leading to our situation today.
Vets are struggling and retiring early due to burn out and dealing with too many Pet Owners who can't pay their bills. And frustrated new Pet Owners - who often lack the knowledge to select and raise a Pet, have been surrendering Pets in record numbers, leading to burned out frustrated Shelter workers and Pet living for long periods in Shelters - or worse fates.

Unfortunately we've been in workaround mode for way too long. We had issues before Covid, but the lockdown made the situation so much worse.
Potential Pet Owners are better educated and equipped to select and care for a Pet. How can we provide a support system for Pet Owners? How can we make Veterinary care more affordable? We better understand the issues in the Animal Health system and provide supports for Veterinarians.
There are so many human issues out there - this is seen as an animal issues, so it gets less attention. But many people rely on their animal for companionship, health and accessability needs - they are impacted due to these issues.
